Studies related to Pharmacokinetics

PXB-mouse studies can be conducted using the same dosing and material sampling methods as other in vivo studies. The in-house study service of PhoenixBio consists of conducting the in-life phase trials and the collection of samples which are then sent to the client for evaluation. Upon request we also perform chemical analysis of the samples. PhoenixBio also offers an additional service which includes the measurement of human Albumin levels within the mouse serum, expression and activity of metabolic enzymes and blood biochemical measurements.

  • Case list

Dosing of Test-Compounds

Dosing Route
Oral, I.V, I.P, S.C.

Similar to other standard in vivo experiments, the compounds can be administered using all valid dosing routes

Sampling

Blood

Blood samples can be extracted on given time points using standard methods and techniques common to other in vivo experiments.

Bile

Bile can be collected continuously through cannulation or using standard methods common to other in vivo experiments.

Feces and Urine

Similar to other in vivo experiments, feces and urine can be collected using the metabolic cage.

Liver and other Organs

Organs are harvested upon completion of the study.

Standard Measurements

Concentration of human Albumin (h-Alb Value)

The human Albumin concentration in mouse serum is measured because this value correlates well with the replacement ratio of human hepatocytes in the mouse liver and can be used as an index of replacement.

Human metabolic enzymes

We measure the amount of human CYPs and mRNA and protein expression of Phase II conjugating enzymes and enzyme activity together with the P450 content.

Examination of Blood chemistry

We measure standard blood chemistry values such as GOT, GPT, γ-GTP, AG, TCHO, etc.
