BAC transgenics
Service Range and Steps for BAC transgenics (mice, rats, rabbits)
The BAC transgenic vectors, containing endogenous protein regulatory sequences have been introduced into the pronuclear ova. By using a BAC gene construct, we can expect to have the same expression profiles as the endogenus gene and as a result can measure the relative rates of transcription for each gene (We call this the "Semi-knock-in" strategy)
Red/ET is a powerful technology for BAC gene constructs.
The Steps to BAC transgenic animal creation (mice & rats) and product delivery times
The service consists of 4 major steps.
The standard schedule and steps to BAC transgenic animal creation (mice & rats)
| Step 1: Vector construction | 2-4 weeks |
| Step 2: Preparation of the DNA fragment with high-grade purity | 2-4 weeks |
| Step 3: DNA microinjection (Delivery & Tail biopsy) a) Delivery of offsprings with target gene from recipient b) Tail biopsy from weanlings | 13-15 weeks |
| Step 4: Founder screening by Southern-blot analysis | 2-4 weeks |
